Salted Black Sesame Ice Cream

This moreish, very easy to make, dairy-free ice cream combines ground black sesame seeds with creamy chilled coconut cream and some maple syrup to give it a touch of sweetness with some pinches of sea salt to enhance the flavours. Serve it on its own or topped with some fresh fruit.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons ground black sesame
400 ml chilled coconut cream
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon sea salt

Directions

Blend all the ingredients together in a large bowl using an electric whisk until very thick and creamy. Taste to see if it needs more salt or maple syrup.
Mark as complete

Transfer the mixture into a loaf tin, and use a spatula to even it out, then cover the tin to make it airtight. Pop it into the freezer and leave for about 3 to 4 hours, stirring it every 30 to 40 minutes until frozen.

Notes

You will need an electric whisk (unless you have strong upper arm strength to hand blend the ice cream!).
